In addition to possible municipal incentives like tax abatements, reduction or elimination of fees, infrastructure extension, loans, or grants, the Citizens of Cedar Park passed a one-cent sales tax for economic development in May of 1999.  The Economic Development (4A) Corporation receives $2.6 million annually (2007) to aid the community with business development by offering additional incentives that are performance-based and typically reimbursable.  The corporation is managed by a City Council appointed Board of Directors with the daily operations managed by staff.
