FIRE PROTECTION SERVICES
Update: During the November 2011 election, the non-contracted areas of Cedar Park's ETJ located in Williamson County voted to create two Emergency Services Districts, Williamson County ESD No. 11 and ESD No. 12.
Williamson County ESD No. 11 includes the Shenandoah neighborhood south of Cedar Park. Voters approved the creation of this ESD with a 178-25 vote. Williamson County ESD No. 12 includes Breakaway, Caballo Ranch, Whippoorwill, Lakewood Country Estates, The Place, Sam Bass and other neighborhoods east of US 183. Voters approved the creation of ESD No. 12 with a 179-35 vote. The Cedar Park Fire Department will continue to serve these areas through December 31, 2012, as these these ESDs work to form their governing boards and choose a fire service provider.
Residents of the non-contracted areas of the Cedar Park ETJ located in Travis County, which include the North Rim, Cross Creek and Indian Springs neighborhoods, chose to join Travis County ESD No. 1 and are now served by the North Lake Travis Fire Department.
