The mission of the City of Cedar Park Planning and Development Services Department is to improve the quality of life for the current and future residents living and working within the City. This is accomplished through the proactive identification of solutions, maintaining an exemplary level of customer service, and keeping abreast of the most advanced trends in urban planning and land development. Further, it is our mission to help carry out programs and projects through public investment, public-private cooperation, volunteer efforts, and enforcement in order to enhance the vitality and promote the orderly development of the community.

Responsibilities:

The Planning & Development Services Department is responsible for all urban planning, building inspection, and code enforcement activities in the City. The Department coordinates interdepartmental review of plans and prepares reports for the City Council, Planning and Zoning Commission, and Board of Adjustment. The Department maintains official records of approved land development activities, coordinating updates to the City's Comprehensive Plan, and administers the City's GIS system.
